HIFU · Focused ultrasound for skin tightening
Non-invasive, FDA-cleared for lifting — with modest, variable results.
What it is
High-intensity focused ultrasound devices deliver heat to deeper skin layers to stimulate collagen and produce lifting. Ultherapy is FDA-cleared for lifting the brow, neck and under-chin and for décolletage lines; other brands (Ultraformer, etc.) are used similarly.
How it works
Focused energy causes controlled thermal injury at set depths without breaking the surface; results appear over two to three months and are modest. Discomfort during treatment is common; nerve irritation and, rarely, fat loss are reported.
