Recovery & performance research, explained
Tendons, ligaments, muscle and the gut lining come up again and again in peptide research. This page explains what has actually been studied — mostly in animal models — and which peptides the literature discusses.

Lo que la gente suele preguntar
The question underneath "recovery" is usually specific: a slow-healing tendon, a nagging joint, a gut that reacts to training, or simply wanting to understand what athletes are talking about. Most of the research people cite is preclinical, and that is the honest starting point.
This pathway covers the peptides most often discussed in soft-tissue, gastrointestinal and mitochondrial-energy research. It does not cover training, nutrition or sleep, which move recovery far more than anything on this page.

BPC-157 has an extensive animal literature in tendon, ligament and gastric-mucosa models and very limited published human data. TB-500 (thymosin beta-4 fragment) is discussed in wound-healing research, again largely preclinical. MOTS-c and SS-31 are studied for mitochondrial function; SS-31 (elamipretide) has reached human trials for specific mitochondrial diseases, which is a different question from performance.
None of these is FDA-approved for recovery or performance, and several are prohibited in tested sport. If you compete under anti-doping rules, that alone answers the question.

Preguntas que vale la pena llevar al profesional
La evaluación es el lugar para las preguntas individuales. Estas suelen hacer que esa conversación sea útil.
- Is my problem structural (something imaging would show) or load-related? Which should be addressed first?
- Do I compete in a tested sport, and does anything discussed here appear on the WADA list?
- What is the human evidence for this, as opposed to animal models?
- What would you expect me to do alongside this — physio, load management, sleep?
Qué ocurre si empiezas una evaluación
The intake asks about injuries, surgeries, medications and any competitive sport. A licensed provider reviews it and tells you plainly whether a conversation about this pathway makes sense. It is free, takes about 10 minutes, and carries no obligation.
Preguntas frecuentes
Is BPC-157 banned in sport?
BPC-157 is on the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list under non-approved substances. If you compete under anti-doping rules, that is decisive regardless of any research.
Does this page recommend anything for an injury?
No. It explains what research exists. An injury needs a proper assessment, and that is what the intake and a licensed provider are for.
What is the difference between BPC-157 and TB-500?
They are distinct peptides studied in different research contexts. Our comparison page walks through the published context for each without treating either as a treatment.
