How provider review works, step by step

One of the most common questions we hear is some version of: "What actually happens after I start the intake?" The short answer is that a licensed provider reads it and decides what, if anything, comes next. This article walks through that process so there are no surprises.

Step one: the confidential intake

The intake lives in the Doctor G Medical patient portal, not on the Vitrex website. When you click a portal link you leave Vitrex and enter the clinic's secure system. The intake asks about your medical history, current medications, symptoms, and what you are hoping to discuss. It is confidential and handled under the clinic's privacy practices.

Be thorough here. The more complete the picture, the more useful the provider's review. Leaving out a medication or a condition because it seems unrelated can lead to a worse outcome than mentioning it.

Step two: provider review

A licensed provider reads the intake and considers it against your history and the evidence for whatever you have asked about. Sometimes the provider will want lab work, a call, or an in-person visit before forming a view. Sometimes the answer is that the topic you asked about is not appropriate for you, and the provider will tell you that directly. There is no charge for completing the intake, and not everyone who completes one is approved for treatment.

Step three: the conversation

If the provider believes a conversation is warranted, they will explain the options they consider reasonable, what each involves, what is and is not known about it, and any relevant risks or considerations. Only at this point are specifics such as timing and pricing discussed, because until the provider has reviewed your case there is nothing meaningful to price.

Step four: the decision is yours together

Nothing proceeds without your agreement. The provider's role is to determine what is medically appropriate; your role is to decide, with that information, whether to go ahead. A good outcome from this process is an informed decision, whether that decision is yes, no, or not yet.

Why the order matters

Websites that show a price first and ask questions later are designed around selling a product. Provider review first is designed around whether the product is right for the person. It is slower, and it means some people are told no. That is the point. Vitrex exists to explain the options clearly and connect you to that review, and it does not dispense, ship, or prescribe anything itself.

If you have general questions about the process before starting, the FAQ covers the most common ones. Individual medical questions belong in the intake, where a provider can actually answer them.
