O que é
Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist peptide, sold as Ozempic (type 2 diabetes, 2017), Rybelsus (oral, 2019) and Wegovy (chronic weight management, 2021). It is one of the most-studied medicines on this site, with multi-year trials in tens of thousands of people.
Because it is approved, it has a label, contraindications, a side-effect profile and a reporting system — all things research peptides lack. That does not make it appropriate for everyone.

GLP-1 agonists mimic a gut hormone that slows gastric emptying, increases insulin release when glucose is high and acts on appetite centres in the brain. The approved trials measured A1c and body weight over 68 weeks and longer, with gastrointestinal side effects the most common reason for stopping.
